Position Overview

Pepkor Lifestyle is seeking an experienced and adaptable Relief Manager to operate within a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store operations across various JD Home chain stores when required, ensuring consistent performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Profitability

  • Drive store profitability through effective planning, leadership, and execution
  • Monitor and improve daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance
  • Implement strategies to achieve sales targets and business growth

Store Operations

  • Oversee all operational functions including administration, stock control, and merchandising
  • Ensure strong store presentation standards aligned with brand requirements
  • Maintain effective stock management to reduce losses and ensure availability

Customer Service

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards are consistently maintained
  • Promote a customer-centric culture within all store environments
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally

People Management

  • Manage, lead, and motivate store teams effectively
  • Support recruitment, training, and performance management processes
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
  • Act as a relief manager across multiple stores as operationally required

Administration & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate completion of administrative and financial processes
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and operational procedures
  • Oversee safety and security standards within the store environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a retail management role
  • Retail Management or Business Diploma (advantageous)
