Position Overview
ADvTECH is seeking a qualified and dedicated Intermediate and/or Senior Phase Teacher to join its Evolve Online School. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, future-focused online education while supporting learners in developing strong academic foundations and independent learning skills within a flexible digital learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Deliver engaging, future-focused lessons aligned with curriculum requirements (IEB, Cambridge, or IB frameworks where applicable)
- Inspire and challenge students to achieve academic mastery across subjects
- Support learners in developing critical thinking and independent learning skills
- Adapt teaching methods to suit online and remote learning environments
Assessment & Reporting
- Plan, prepare, and conduct assessments in line with curriculum standards
- Track and report on student progress accurately and timeously
- Provide constructive feedback to support learner improvement
Student Support & Behaviour Management
- Maintain positive classroom management in a virtual learning environment
- Support students academically and behaviourally where needed
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging online learning space
Communication & Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders
- Collaborate effectively with academic teams and support staff
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate academic records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with school policies and educational standards
- Participate in school-related administrative duties as required
Health, Safety & Professional Standards
- Promote a safe and supportive learning environment
- Act as a professional ambassador for the school brand
- Uphold high ethical and professional standards at all times
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 6)
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or Bachelor of Education (Intermediate, Intersen, or Senior Phase)
- Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
- Police clearance certificate
- 2–5 years teaching experience
- Computer and digital literacy
- First Aid certification (advantageous)
