Role Overview
Hyundai Springfield is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join its service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles while ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive workshop environment.
Key Purpose of the Role
To perform accurate vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services while ensuring safety standards, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnostics & Repairs
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical faults
- Repair and replace components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Identify and resolve vehicle performance issues accurately
Maintenance Services
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tyre rotations, and wheel alignments
- Ensure vehicles are serviced according to manufacturer standards
- Maintain high-quality workmanship on all repairs and services
Documentation & Reporting
- Record all work completed accurately and maintain service records
- Document diagnostics, repairs, and parts used
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly
Customer Communication
- Explain vehicle issues and recommended repairs to customers
- Provide professional and honest service advice
- Ensure a positive customer experience at all times
Workshop Standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Adhere to all health, safety, and company procedures
- Ensure proper handling of tools and equipment
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Automotive technical qualification or relevant certification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Automotive Technician
- Valid driver’s licence with clean driving record
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
