Position Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking a Health Merchandiser for its Knysna Mall store. The role focuses on maintaining high merchandising standards, ensuring product availability, and delivering excellent customer service in line with store policies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping shelves stocked, properly arranged, and compliant with company display and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Restock shelves according to store requirements and merchandising plans
  • Ensure stock received from suppliers or storerooms is correctly stored and displayed
  • Maintain full product availability across all allocated ranges
  • Apply First-In-First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation principles
  • Assist with stock counts and inventory control processes
  • Ensure shelves are clean, neat, and correctly labelled at all times
  • Build, maintain, and update merchandising displays according to standards
  • Perform daily upkeep of shelves, displays, and stock areas
  • Manage assigned stock areas both in-store and in storage rooms
  • Assist with back shopping and shelf replenishment
  • Resolve customer queries related to stock availability and product location
  • Report any suspicious behaviour or irregularities to management

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Up to 6 months retail experience (advantageous)
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Diploma or degree in Health-related field
  • At least 1 year retail experience

  • Attention to detail and presentation standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and staff

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual ability
  • Knowledge of FMCG merchandising standards
  • Product and category understanding
  • Experience with SAP or Unisolv systems
  • Ability to analyse stock and ordering reports

  • Must reside near the store or have reliable transport
