Job Overview
Cape Union Mart International is seeking an experienced and results-driven Store Leader to manage operations at its Riverside store in Mbombela.
This leadership role is responsible for driving store performance, achieving sales targets, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Store Leader will oversee all aspects of store operations, including financial management, stock control, merchandising, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Performance
- Achieve and exceed daily, monthly, and annual sales targets
- Drive overall store profitability through effective sales strategies
- Monitor financial performance and ensure cost control within the store
Stock & Merchandising Management
- Ensure proper stock control to minimise losses and maintain product availability
- Monitor stock risks and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Maintain merchandising standards in line with brand requirements
- Ensure optimal product mix to support sales performance
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a high-quality customer experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and service providers
People Management
- Recruit, train, and manage staff effectively
- Oversee payroll administration and workforce planning
- Motivate, inspire, and develop team members
- Hold staff accountable for performance and behavioural standards
- Promote a positive, engaging, and culture-driven work environment
Store Operations
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain operational efficiency across all store functions
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in store management
- At least 8 years’ experience in the retail industry
- Experience managing a high-volume retail store with turnover exceeding R20 million per annum
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Clear criminal record
- Strong communication skills across all levels
