This role is ideal for an experienced retail professional who understands store operations, stock control, and team supervision. You will support the Showroom Manager in ensuring smooth daily operations, strong sales performance, and full compliance with company standards.


Purpose of the Role

The Store Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that the showroom operates efficiently on a day-to-day basis. This includes overseeing staff activities, managing stock processes, ensuring proper cash handling, and maintaining compliance with operational policies.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Showroom Performance

  • Support the Showroom Manager in achieving sales targets
  • Monitor daily sales activities and ensure alignment with promotions
  • Ensure staff are visible, engaged, and following proper selling techniques
  • Assist in implementing campaigns and product changes

Operational Execution & Compliance

  • Ensure all operational processes follow company policies and legal requirements
  • Identify risks, non-compliance, or process gaps and escalate them
  • Support corrective action plans to improve operational efficiency

Stock Management

  • Oversee receiving, scanning, storage, and movement of stock
  • Support stock counts, cycle counts, and stocktakes
  • Monitor stock variances, damages, and risks
  • Maintain organised and well-labelled stockrooms

Cash Handling & Risk Control

  • Ensure accurate cash handling, counting, and reconciliation
  • Monitor cash flow processes including POS and banking
  • Investigate discrepancies and report risks such as counterfeit cash
  • Support measures to reduce financial risk and improve control

People Supervision & Training

  • Supervise daily staff activities and enforce company policies
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and staff development
  • Provide coaching to improve team performance and compliance

Reporting & Administration

  • Compile and submit operational and compliance reports
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and reviews
  • Escalate operational issues and risks to management

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Identify and report hazards in the workplace
  • Promote a safe and disciplined working environment

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail
  • At least 3 years’ experience in retail administration or operations
  • Strong understanding of stock control and cash handling processes
  • Good computer literacy and ability to use retail systems
  • Clear credit and criminal record
