You need at least a Grade 12 education (NQF Level 4) or similar, along with at least three years of experience in administrative work.

Salary: R325 101 – R382 959 per annum (Level 07)
Placement: SA Army Gymnasium, Heidelberg

Requirement And Conditions Required:

  • Key abilities include knowing the laws for Public Service Act Personnel, understanding administrative tasks and how to keep records, and knowing workplace procedures.
  • You must be good with computers, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, both speaking and writing, are essential, as are planning, organizing and getting along well with others.
  • You should also be able to solve problems, think clearly and take initiative in your administrative duties.

Responsiblities:

  • Oversee and provide general office assistance: Organize how the Light Workshop Troop (LWT) Section is managed to make sure LWT tasks are handled well.
  • Keep track, sort, and give incoming mail to the right people in the LWT Section.
  • Record and send out outgoing mail and faxes. Answer phone questions.
  • Make needed copies of documents for the LWT Section. Handle internal work requests and requests for office supplies and cleaning gear.
  • Create a system for organizing documents so they can be found easily.
  • Handle letters, proposals, meeting plans, and meeting summaries.
  • Check documents to make sure they are complete and correct.
  • Write business letters, reports, meeting plans, meeting summaries, and internal notes.
  • Do basic tasks related to managing employees.
  • Handle and process requests for time off.
  • Send LWT members’ statements and questions to HR.
  • Send the LWT’s schedule of names to HR.
  • Collect and give out pay slips.
  • Maintain and update the list of names for the LWT Section.
  • Help with planning for the LWT Section.
  • Receive, share within the unit and keep records of all Transport (TPT) and LWT rules.
  • Keep track of planned vehicle repairs/services.
  • Keep track of unplanned repairs.
  • Help with LWT planning and budgeting during the SMP Process.
  • Help with managing how government money is spent.
  • Create reports on administrative topics and numbers.
